After getting fit all over again, Mohammed Shami is now ready for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2017 which will starts from 1st June in England and Wales. The BCCI has announced on Sunday that they are not holding up the team India from CT 2017 and now on Monday the Selector committee chose the 15-man squad in particular for the Champions Trophy.
Shami is joining the team India for his second biggest ICC event, after the 2015 World Cup in his career. He gave the credit for this to Zaheer Khan who recently got engaged with Sagarika Ghatge. In an interview, he said,” I got a lot of help from Delhi Daredevils Captain Zaheer Khan, with his coaching and presence helped me a lot in my performance to make me a better bowler.”
Pacer Mohammed Shami also feels like the Indian Premier League is a fantastic platform for the young cricket to come out and prove themselves in the front of big leagues and Nation also.
His last ODI matches in Indian Team was back in 2015 in the ICC Cricket World Cup, so it’s going to be a fresh start for him in the field.
According to him, the Two-year duration is pretty good amount to be away from 50-over cricket. He also said that these two years, he mainly focussed on his strength and fitness in the field.
Now his physic is a bit slim, and hopefully, he can do well in the most awaited Series in Cricket called Champions Trophy.
“Our defense and attack is the most powerful thing in the Cricket world. And all We need is to help each other on the field to get more wickets and make more runs to put the opposing team down on their knees. We would be certainly giving our hundred percent, and the rest is luck. Looking forward to Champions Trophy,” he said after getting chosen for the ICC CT 2017.
