Sanjay Bangar and Ramakrishnan Sridhar (batting and fielding coach) are now getting retained in the Indian Cricket team Support Staff after the decision taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2017 which will starts from 1st June after the warm-up matches in Wales and England.
If we take the Indian Express seriously, both coaches’ contracts ended in March and the decision on retaking them by renewing their permits as a batting and fielding coach was up against board in June.
The selecting committee did make some changes in the supporting staff department by leaving Anil Patel behind and giving his position of Team Manager to the Kapil Malhotra.
“The decision was already taken about the support team for the Indian national Cricket team for the Champions Trophy 2017, but on end moment we have to make a change, in which Kapil Malhotra is taking over as team manager. On the other side, Bangar and Sridhar are going to extend their permit so that they can continue their services in the tournament. We will work on the whether we are going to keep them or not after the CT 2017,” BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said this to Indian Express, in his interview.
In the supervision of Head Coach, Anil Kumble, both Banger and Sridhar has worked really well to make the team where it is now. The Committee of Administrators (CoA) has hinted something about bringing up the annual contract for the onboard coaches.
The BCCI has already announced the 15-man squad of Indian Cricket team for the Champions Trophy 2017, and now every fan is waiting for the first warm-up match in CT 2017 of Indian team against New Zealand and then Bangladesh before they hit the field for Pakistan.
